I understood that there is a batch upload with this module. I know I can choose for example 10 images and then upload them with one click but still I need to individually choose those files.

Is there a batch upload where I could just copy the images to server and they could be assigned to a gallery?

This is actually a feature request and a duplicate or related to:
#477472: Integrate with SWFupload/Image Fupload

The gallery uses Drupal's core batch processing to add the chosen images to the gallery.

right now, there is not an FTP or bulk upload option for bulk processing or assignment to a gallery.
