Hi,
Looking for a stable CMS that offers the following features:
SCRIPTS / MODULES REQUIRED
1) Auction (with "Buy Now" feature)
2) Blog (with RSS syndication)
3) Gallery
4) Links
Reason for CMS option (rather than individual scripts) is single user registration with which to login to Auction to buy, and Blog to comment, and single login for Admin to everything.
I have had a look at the features page at http://drupal.org/features/ and searched the site for Auction and while there are some forum posts about an auction module, I could not find a trace of it, or a gallery script, on the Modules page at http://drupal.org/project/Modules/
Thanks

cmsmatrix.org
To find the cms needed I can recomend cmsmatrix.org comparison charts. I was in the process of selecting a cms myself and even though it has fewer features than f.eks. joomla and typo3 I settled on drupal because it has one great advantage, clean code that makes it easier to customize and build own features. Also joomla has issues with links, it messes them up and typo3 has a very steep learning curve.
Does anyone know if Drupal has these 4 features?
While overly comprehensive, cmsmatrix.org does not of course list every feature for every CMS. For example there is no selection option for "auction".
That's why I posted here - to see if Drupal has what we are looking for - as on the face of it, it does look like a clean script.
Does anyone know if Drupal has the 4 features we're looking for?
Thanks
I think so
Hi,
It definitely has 3 out of those 4. It has very good blog support (including multiple blogs), has a good module for images and galleries (and also has a bridge to the excellent Gallery2 script), and by links you can either use the weblinks module or use input filters to automatically convert text into links. The only one I'm not sure about is the auction. Check in the modules listing to see if there is a specific module for auctions. However, there is a really good e-commerce package that would provide the "buy now" portion. However, it sounds like you might want some custom functionality which you might have to program yourself (which drupal will make easier with its api and clean code)

Can Drupal be bridged to Phpauction easily?
Thanks Ryan,
I think we're not going to find a suitable eBay style auction module for any CMS. That being the case we are now considering either Joomla or Drupal to use with Phpauction.
How easy, difficult or impossible will it be to either bridge Phpauction with Drupal, so users login once not twice, or just wrap both scripts with the same design so users move seamlessly from one to the other.
I see many people applaud the clean scripting of Drupal, but is this idea a practical option?
Thanks
Drupal + PhpAuction
This would be a great interaction. There are a fair amount of non profit organizations that like to hold / could benefit from holding auctions to bring in extra revenue.
What would it take to get this integration?
Could it be done by integrating with CivicSpace or just CiviCRM?
Thanks
