I have run into a weird problem, and haven't been able to find anyone else who has reported it. Many nodes that have been flagged and promoted to the front page are disappearing off the front page a day or two later. The flag link still says "Remove from front page" just like it should for a promoted node, but when you go into edit, the promote checkbox is unchecked.

This only seems to be happening with stories promoted via the flag links, not those that are set to promote via the node edit interface. And it seems to be happening more with items brought in via Feed API rather than other content types created by users on the site.

This isn't the first time I've run into this. I saw it also happen on a few test sites I've been playing with.

Does anyone know why this is happening? Thanks.

I don't know of any cause for this problem, and I've not experienced it or heard any similar reports. Unfortunately things getting mysteriously unflagged "after a few days" is too vague to reproduce. If you can provide instructions on how to reproduce this problem from a clean Drupal installation I'll have a look into it.

I was hoping someone else had seen this problem, because I'm not sure how to describe the steps to reproduce. I created a flag and gave it an action to promote to the front page after one flag. I just went back through all the configurations again, and I don't see anything amiss.

Perhaps this problem has more to do with Actions, as it appears the Flag part is working as it should. Thanks for your help.
