Issue Summary
I haven't tried this, but wouldn't it be even more interesting when you would support drag-n-drop using Google Gears? This would remove the browser limitations (but would require Google gears. It's the way Google Wave implements this feature.

While it is an option, it is not one that I am likely to take.
My aim with this project is to support native Drag'n'Drop functionality with no addons, however once I have reached the limit of the current technologies I may look at addons as a option.
Thanks for the links, they could be helpful in the future.
Marking this as postponed.

I probably could have worded that reply a little better, as ruling out functionality is not something that I really mean to do.
Native support is now available in Apple Safari (4+), Google Chrome (2+) and Mozilla Firefox (3.6+), but this is probably as far as native support will go for the foreseeable future, so I will now start looking into Google Gears support and possibly even other 3rd party solutions.
