Description

I am using APK (5.x-1.0-alpha4) and the buddylist1 (5.x-1.1-beta) modules on my site. I would like to display a user's buddies in a block on the user's profile as in the Michelle's Friends block in http://www.shellsn.com/users/michelle. I have tried using the default views "buddylist_of_uid" and "buddylist" but none of them give me what I want. After several tweaks of the mentioned views, the closest I have come to list the buddies of the user's but in a table format. Can anyone help me accomplish this? Thanks.

The view you're looking for is called "buddylist_gallery". The description is "[APK] Names and avatars of a given user's buddies". It's included with APK in D5.

Oh, I just re-read that and realized you're using an ancient version. If you aren't seeing that view, you'll need to upgrade to get it.

Thanks Michelle. You mean I would have to upgrade my APK module to 5.x-1.0 right?

Yes. That or grab the view definition out of CVS and import it manually.

I copied the views definition for buddylist-gallery from APK 5 and imported it. On my page I get a "User has no buddies" message on the buddylist gallery block even though I know I have buddies. Is there some setting I am missing? Thanks.

It's been so very long since I looked at this and I have no D5 sites to look at. I don't really remember anything about the view... Try looking at the view outside of APK and see if it works. If it does, maybe it's not getting the argument?

I'll set this active again in case someone else still on D5 can help. I don't think there's much more I can do at this point.
