I have several users who go by their middle name and want their citations formatted:
Last, F. Middle
No matter how they enter the name in the database, biblio reparses the name to
Last, Middle F.
The "Normalize Author Names" option mentioned in the documentation seems to be awol in the latest versions. Is there a way to disable author normalization or otherwise resolve this issue?
Thank you,
Pat

rjerome commentedFunny you should mention that. Just the other day I was writing some code which will disable the "re-formatting" of any given author name if desired. Basically, there will be a check box on the author/xx/edit page which, when checked, will keep the author name as it is entered. The intent of this option was for use with "Corporate / Institutional" authors, but I could be applied here as well.
The only real implication of using it for regular authors is it will most likely break the format of what ever bibliographic style you are using (just out of curiosity, which style are you using?).

patrokov commentedThe default is APA, but I have tried the biblio default format and Chicago style as well.
Here is the citation in question:

The name is formatted as Starr, Barton J. when it should be Starr, J. Barton
