Are there plans to implement the new Forms API and make contact directory 4.7.0 compatible?

Is there any development going on for a 4.7 version? I recently created a site, and need a contact directory fairly soon. Is this something I can look forward to in the coming weeks, or should I look elsewhere?

I have been using the 4.7 module for a site I am building and would like to know if a 4.7 version is in development. Thanks, in absence of that, is the CVS version an acceptable alternative?
