All, I have read all the instructions I can get my hands on, yet I still can't seem to get google analytics to tell me tracking is working. I've installed the google analytics module, and enabled it, and set it up with my account #.
I'm at a loss at this point and would _love_ a point in the right direction. Do I need to make a block for the code and put it in the footer somewhere? (though i've tried this and still no dice)
thanks

stevethemusicman commentedHi,
Did you find an answer to this? I'm also trying to add Google Analytics and cannot find a place to paste the code they gave to me.
Thanks,
Steve

hass commentedYou only need to enter your GA account number and you are DONE. Code is automatically generated for you. If the codes does not apear - your theme is missing the $footer variable (theme bug). Hope this helps.
PS: Please take a look to the screencasts on project home - they are made to help you.

peter lau commentedI also have similar experience. I installed successfully but it was not working. I have watched different video from web and find that my steps are correct. I reset back to default value and then untick the google analytics. Then I re-install it again. After I finish the configuration: simply add the google code from your google analytic accounts, it works: You can see the green tick in your google account.

schvili commentedI know probably shouldn't admit this in the open but maybe someone made the same mistake as me :-)
If you for instance, like me, checked the administrator role not to be counted for - then the code wont show if you are... logged in as administrator.
Of course the $footer needs to be included in the theme as describes above.
By the way, since you seems to be interested in not showing some of the visits, have a look at this info from google:
