Drupal Theme colour changes
Hi
I am new to Drupal, and although have installed it and built a blog using it, I am lost when it comes to editing.
I want to change the theme colours on the Marinelli theme on 2 projects - one being far more important than the other - but if I can get some "nub proof" pointers, then I can learn from that.
I want to turn the blue colour scheme into a dark green theme on http://www.southlakesminis.com and change the background from the grey / black to green tones - or a plain green background.
I have downloaded a CSS editor on trial, and have tried to change a few colours, have uploaded it back upto the server, but no changes were apparent afterwards.
Is there anyone out there that can perhaps change the colours for me , so then I can compare the before and after css's?
I really am desperate for any help that any kind sould could offer please. I realise that talking me through it could take more time - but have been reading all abou style sheets etc on the net and my head is bursting with jargon that I just don't understand yet.
Your help would be gratefully appreciated and very much welcomed!
Thanks
Chris

Marinelli Background Colour Change
Hi Chris,
I'm new to Drupal and just had a similar problem (I think) to you. In the end, the way I changed the background was to adjust the colours in the source background image which is located in folder themes > marinelli > imag. The background image in my theme was a GIF image called 'body' which was a tiny square of colour with a lighter stripe diagonally across it. This tiny square is then repeated right across the background of the browser window to create an overall pinstripe effect. I opened this in Photoshop and adjusted the colour hue to green from blue and then just saved it as the same image. If you haven't got Photoshop there are plenty of other GIF editor programs you could use.
I've noticed that your background stripes are much wider than mine, so I suspect that your GIF image (or it might be PNG image) will be bigger. The above principle should work the same though.
Good luck!
