Possible to merge with the Mapstraction module?

Project:Mapstraction CCK
Version:6.x-1.x-dev
Component:Miscellaneous
Category:support request
Priority:normal
Assigned:Unassigned
Status:active

Issue Summary

As a maintainer of the Mapstraction module I would very much like to see if we could join forces in one place?

Using a map widget to add location data to a node is something we miss in the Mapstraction module. That would make the solution more complete and at the same time we doesn't need to duplicate efforts.

What do you think?

Hi, we agree about join forces in one place.
The Mapstraction CCK goal is provide a full support for CCK and views based on Mapstraction.
The view style provided by Mapstraction module is really great and would be integrated in the module, improving it.
A possible issue for te Mapstraction module is that should be able to show lines and polygons too.
Join forces is a great idea and we have to talk about the way to integrate both modules.
have a nice day!

Hi,

We are working in a new submodule which integrates views support for mapstraction CCK module.

This new submodule is based on the mapstraction module and provides some improvements to this module.

We think that we can collaborate in the future working in the same way and we are very grateful for your work.

We are waiting for your opinions and feedback about the module

Thanks!

Ups, I feel like I've came here the right time!

It was only the last week when I've contributed a sensible chunk of code to mapstraction.module (#808134: Implement polyline rendering, row plugin, libraries.module support and other improvements). Specifically, the one to deal with polylines, row style plugin, libraries.module support, etc.

Until it's not too late, I'd like to spend some coding time to integration of these two modules -- it's painful to see how much time is wasted to do basically the same thing not even knowing of each other's effort!

I'd like to investigate mapstraction_cck.module codebase first, and then, hopefully, make some proposals.

Hi!
We are interested in your proposals and will be grateful if you give us feedback about modules integration.
Now, we are not working full time in the module, only giving support for issues and bug reports, but ew can make an effort if your proposals are interesting.
Thanks for your collaboration!!
