Hi,

I've installed forum_access on a site with 4 languages, and restricted one of the forums so that it is not visible to anonymous users. This works as expected as longs as the default english language is used.

If any of the other three langauges are select (de/fr/it), then the its reports no forum found, i.e. if one visits http://mysite/de

Has anyone used this module on a multi-lang site?

Thanks in advance.

You mean no forum at all? What's the exact message?

I'm using FA on multi-language sites based on domain prefixes (i.e. http://de.example.com/) and I've never had any problems.

What's the URL where you're missing the forums?

http://example.com/de/forum works just fine for me (using the current 6.x-1.x-dev).

The message I get is "Es wurden noch keine Foren definiert" (which means no forums defined), when I access http://example.com/de

Perhaps I should move to the dev release..

Interestingly if I navigate to a forum in English, e.g. http://example.com/en/forum/11 and then switch to German http://example.com/de/forum/11, then the forum is shown (no error message).

However even after connecting to the forum (visiting the link above), no messages are visible to anonymous users, despite have "view this forum" set for "anonymous user" on the container and forum level.
Note that "See this container in the Forums selection list" is also set for anonymous users.

http://example.com/de normally does not show forums. Does http://example.com/de/forum work for you or not?

I've set the front page to be 'forum', and now I see the forums on http://example.com/de, as admin, as normal user, and as anonymous.

Yes, please update to the -dev version.

There's no such concept as "connecting to a forum". Either you see http://example.com/de/forum/11 or you don't — it should definitely not matter what you did before.

If we need to get down to the node level, then please follow the directions that were displayed when you created this issue.

After updating to the dev tarball (6.x-1.x-dev, 2009-Nov-23), its fine, no problem.

Great, thanks for letting us know. I plan to make a new release within a week.
