This is a great module, it makes inserting images into content very intuitive as long as the user can easily see the 'upload image' form.

I see in this inline image insertion screencast the node edit page is styled so the image field is positioned to the right of the body field for easy access while entering content.

Is there a 'best method' to setup the image field so users can easily see it? Or just adjust the CSS until it all fits together nicely?

Or is there a way to integrate insert-enabled image field positioning into the module?

You can create custom node form layouts by using the Panels module (version 3). Other than that you should look into theming your forms in your theme. Admin module and it's bundled "Slate" theme does a nice job of theming the node forms, though it only puts taxonomies over in a sidebar, however it's a good template for how to move things into a sidebar if desired.
