Is there a way to provide Blog categories, so users of a certain role post there blogs under a blog category, for example, Lecturers Blogs, Students Blogs, Managers Blogs, Advisors Blogs etc.

I want to have a blog page for each category listing all blogs posts by all users in that category, it doesnt really work with Taxonomies because obviously i don't want users to be able to choose which category to post their blog posts in.

I don't know of any way to make this work and thought this module would be the right place to implement this functionality.

Perhaps you could try http://drupal.org/project/taxonomy_role, which seems to be providing the functionality you want, using taxonomy.
