Initially, I would like to become a co-maintainer of the uc_paypoint module http://www.drupal.org/project/uc_paypoint

The maintainer of the module has not had time to develop the module for drupal 6, and is now asking for a co-maintainer. I have helped to develop the patch for drupal 6 in the issue queue, including applying drupal coding standards and fixes. http://drupal.org/node/418154

We have a need for a drupal 6 version of this module, and will be developing it in order to meet our needs, so it would be good to be able to release it back to the community. The company I work for are partners with paypoint, so we would be in a good position to iron out any of the remaining bugs, as we are able to work with paypoint directly if any problems arise.

In the issue report you link to, the current maintainer has not accepted your offer to become co-maintainer, and you didn't offer to become co-maintainer.

What the maintainer of the project wrote is the following sentence:

Does anyone here have a CVS account who would be willing to be co-maintainer of this module with me?

It seems he is referring to whom already has a CVS account.
