I would like to have a section at the bottom of a product node that would appear for users assigned to the affiliates role. This section would display two text fields - one for the URL of the page with the affiliate link and one for the HTML code. The URL makes it easy for affiliates to copy and paste a link to a product on social networks like Twitter and Facebook where the full HTML is not needed.

This section could even be themed with a heading of "Affiliate Links" and some simple text along the lines of "Link to [token] and earn [commission] on each sale generated."

Maybe even an Amazon-like tool bar to "create link to this product" which would open a thickbox/lightbox window with a form to generate custom links.

If the affiliate settings are set to place a cookie, then you could even do the same for the catalog's category pages too. The affiliate can then link to a product category where the visitor could be directed to a list of items instead of just one.

Either way, the idea is to make it easier for the affiliates to link to your products as the current tools are a little cumbersome. It seems easy enough but I have no idea how to make it work. Is there any other interest in doing something like this? Any developers interested in it?
