For some reason when I select the "display in teaser" option the NewsFlash Theme header and SuckerFish menu disappear on the home page and a few other pages. On individual node pages the the banner and suckerfish are OK. And everything seems to be OK if I don't choose this option
It breaks on IE and Firefox. Any ideas?
Also, is there a similar module to AddThis that I can try?

vesapalmu commentedTry disabling all CSS + JS aggregation and caching, check the page source to see if all CSS and JS components have been loaded on broken pages. It could be a CSS or JS namespace conflict, but that's quite unlikely. Firebug is a very good tool for Firefox to figuring out why one part of the page is broken.
There are quite a few sharing modules for Drupal. You may want to try Service links, ShareThis or some other module for pretty much doing the same thing. Hopefully one day there will be only one sharing module, but sharing services are still so very different that this day is not quite yet here...
