Failed to fetch available update data
It is happening on every module check, but not always with the same modules. There are usually a few modules that show their current status, but most (sometimes all) return the error.
My site is staging.childrensong.org, hosted on Dreamhost.com. The site's IP is 208.113.225.113. I am running Drupal 6.14, and the problem appears to have started a few days ago (I was on Drupal 6.13 until yesterday). It's working on some of the modules, so it doesn't appear to be a configuration issue or firewall problem at Dreamhost.

pedrorocha commentedI was unable to download anything from drupal.org from my shell accounts hosted with Dreamhost, even a "ping" i could, so i talked a moment with the support team from Dreamhost, trying to discover what was the problem, and the answer was:
"From a traceroute, it looks like it is being blocked on the 12th hop.
There is nothing we can do about this and until drupal fixes this, you can just download from them and then upload to your site via ftp."
Assuming that a lot of people use Dreamhost to host Drupal sites, it implies in a lot of sites without update functioning.

dale42drupal.org is blocked from the Dreamhost server I'm on, as well (joker.dreamhost.com). I can't run traceroute to determine where it's blocked. I can wget from other domains.
