I'm not satisfied with the current code quality level of this module, which is why I want to rewrite it. I only have access to the ING Connector, so the question is: does Rabobank still use thinmpi? From what I read around the web, this is not the case. This could greatly simplify the module code.

My initial goals are to implement proper support for retrieving delayed transactions and implement entrance code validation for better security. Furthermore I'd like to use the connector as a pure library, removing the need to modify/patch its code and simplifying installation.

Yes, thinmpi is still supported and in use by Rabobank.

Please provide reviewable patches for your changes (please not all possible changes in one big patch or archive).
It would be interesting to see what your approach would be regarding not altering the connector code.

In de "Handleiding iDEAL Professional" Versie 1.0,FEBRUARI, 2010 staat "vanaf de start van iDEAL tot begin 2010 heeft de Rabobank ook specifieke voorbeeld-software ter beschikking gesteld. Gezien de op dit moment wijdverbreide kennis inzake de integratie met iDEAL wordt deze voorbeeld-software niet meer verstrekt."
