When trying to edit any Argument input in the panel page setting, I get the following error:

An error occurred at /admin/build/views/ajax/display/Avatar/panel_pane_1/argument_input.

An error occurred at /admin/build/views/ajax/display/admin_content/panel_pane_1/argument_input.

An error occurred at /admin/build/views/ajax/display/glossary/panel_pane_1/argument_input.

I have tried several views

Please have a look at error logs, and see which error eixists. Alternative you can look with firebug at the request fired by views.
