I would like to give administrators the ability to change a read-only field.

I saw your comment elsewhere on the site.
i appologise, that feature was there, and i commented it out to do testing of the disabled-fields code for 4.7, and in a rush forgot to un-comment it.

This has been fixed, and tonights build will correct it.
