Organic Group Panel is a very useful module to build different organic group specific panel pages, but it's lacking the import and export functionality found in normal panels. I wrote a module named "og_panels_export" which adds these functionalities.

This is the first version of the organic group panels export module. When this module is installed, two field sets will be added on top of the panels_edit_display_form, one is showing the current og panel's exported code, the other allow user to paste the exported code from another og_panels and import it into the current og panel.

This module is for Drupal version 6 only.

Did you propose a patch for the existing module?

Hi KiamLaLuno,
No, I did not do it yet, I wrote this module hoping to add additional functions on top of og_panels. Should I create a patch to it instead?

Best Regards,
Jim

In cases like this, it is preferable to create a patch for the existing module; differently there would be thousand projects that just add a single feature to another project.

Once that you opened a report to submit the patch, you can also offer to the current maintainer of that module to become co-maintainer; the maintainer could also accept your offer, but that is not granted. Sometimes, the maintainers will ask you to create more patches, before to make you co-maintainer.
