Might be related to #464556: Installer requirements check doesn't appear
System and install:
* Mac OSX 10.6
* MAMP 1.8.3
* PHP 5.2.11
* MySQL 5.1.37
* Drupal CVS: 22 Nov 2009
Steps
* When going through installer and on Set Up Database step
* Enter in the DB info, but it is wrong (like the password is bad)
Expectations
* I would expect an error to occur with some information
What Happens
* See screenshot: http://skitch.com/zzolo/netid/database-configuration-drupal
* There is a message (that is not very noticeable) at the bottom that says "Please check the error messages and try again"
* There is no error message to describe what the problem is

bleen commentedNot sure but this maybe related to #638416: No messages in install / template logic for $messages ... I'll check when I'm on a computer and not an iPhone
Comment #2
bleen commentedEither way though I'd say you can't release d7 if errors don't show on install ...
Comment #3
bleen commentedI just ran the installer and put in a wrong username and got this error (see attachment)...
good news is I got an error .. bad news is that the error is unreadable when its red text n an orange BG
this patch fixes the problem (see after-patch attachment)
