Again some spam out of India is haunting the forums.

avpadernoI removed the comment, which was not spam, as it didn't contain any links.

dddave commentedOh, didn't know that spam is defined as "containing links". My own definition always was "trash that shouldn't be posted". Thanks for the removal and the info.

avpadernoWikipedia reports that spam posts
It seems to be the same criteria used to identify spam posts on Drupal.org.
The reason to be more restrictive about what to consider spam is that spammer accounts are automatically blocked, while users who created posts (or comments) that are not appropriate are warned (the first times).
A definition as is too generic, and would include the posts of people who didn't know exactly where to post a comment, in example.
I agree that sometimes some are created from spammers just to verify the action that we take on such posts, but until a user doesn't actually create a real spam post (or the user has already spammed other web sites, and it seems he is starting to spam Drupal.org as well), we should not block the user account (IMO).

dddave commentedThanks for the explanation. Never invested deeper thoughts into this subject but the current policy sound reasonable.
