This is a bug fix release for the Metatag 2.1.x branch, all sites are recommended to update.

Thanks as always to everyone who collaborated on this release.

Note: Please make sure that you no longer have a file named "metatag.tokens.inc" after the update, otherwise you will run into problems with duplicate functions; to resolve the problem, just delete "metatag.tokens.inc".

Thanks to the community for collaborating on all of these changes, Metatag v2.0.x is now fully compatible with Drupal 11.

This may be the last release of 2.0.x, further work will continue on the 2.1.x and 2.2.x branches.

This fixes a facepalm-worthy oversight in 2.0.1, sorry about that, and thank to podarok for providing a fix.

Changes since 7.x-2.0:

This is the first release of Metatag 2 for Drupal 9+.

There are a good number of changes from v8.x-1.x, and a number of update scripts have been provided to adjust sites so they can be compatible. Please make sure to test this update on a non-production copy of all sites to ensure everything still works correctly after the update.

This release resolves some issues with the update scripts in the last release, hopefully this is more reliable.

This release includes a few new meta tags, some improved Views integration, and fixes a few small bugs. This is a recommended update for all sites.

This includes a good many improvements since 8.x-1.14. The most notable improvement is automatic parsing of URLs for image fields if the fields are configured properly; we'll work on improving the official documentation to explain this part soon.

This is the first release of Metatag that is compatible with Drupal 9, thanks to several wonderful people who spent time debugging issues and rewriting parts of the module.

It should be noted that this release is compatible with Drupal 8.7.7+, 8.8, 8.9 and 9.0. There are some test regressions for 8.7 due to compatibility problems with the Page Manager and Redirect modules. It is no longer compatible with 8.7.6 or any release of 8.6.

This release is focused on fixing some bugs from the last stable release, and some tidying of the test coverage. As always, a huge thank you to everyone to contributed to make this release stable.

This is an important bugfix release for any sites which also used Schema.org Metatag or other possibly custom submodules that added new meta tags. Apologies for the broken 1.6 release, the codebase now includes some extra test coverage to help ensure Schema.org Metatag is not broken by changes.
