Hi,

I am running Drupal 4.7, I need a mass mail script to send out an announcement to all my member, I searched but havent found any for 4.7.

Well, I agree: 4.7 needs a good mass mailer. I made a similar request for information here: http://drupal.org/node/61574 . AFAIK, it is still needed.

If your list is not so large and bounces are not a big problem, you might consider simplenews. Very nice for what it does.

I've actually gotten CiviMail (part of CiviCRM 1.4) to work. On my VPS, CiviCRM is really slow and I'm not inclined to use it for that reason. Powerful though.

I've spent a lot of time hacking at the latest (4.6) version of massmailer and I've got it mostly working on 4.7. I say 'mostly' because there were LOTS of changes needed and I'm sure I've introduced new bugs. But I sent out a 1200 member list and it seemed to go OK. I'm working on getting the bounce handler to work (which PHPlist does, but massmailer hasn't supported yet AFAIK). Once I get that working I exect I'll post a revised module here.

I'm not a professional coder tho, and am not familiar with maintainer protocols. Mine won't be a general solution, but as they say it works for me. It is a shame such an important feature isn't already part of 4.7, but that's the way open source works.

simple news isnt what I am looking for, I just need to mail all my site members some imporant info hehe ;) any other possible ways?
