not sure if this really a bug or wrong configuration
using latest ubercart 6.x 2.2

forgot to mention that discount is
multiply -0.50
and it never appears as a line item
and instead increases value instead of decreasing

Apparently it was keeping values from two other products on the cart
I have tried unsuceessfully to clear all cache
but only after running update.php I got it seeing the correct values

does ubercart keeps some sort of cache which was never cleared ??

Check your "Cache generated price values until the next cron run" at admin/store/settings/price-handlers.
