I have read that there is no support for imagecache yet.

However i like to have some presets (especially default size for original uploaded images)working for images.
Is installing the gd library the only way to get these functions in Image picker?
To add, is image picker compatible with http://drupal.org/project/image_resize_filter

Imagepicker already uses the GD library if available.
I have had a look at imagecache but cannot figure out how it works, it is very different from imagepicker
The image_resize_filter is new to me so I can't comment, but just at a glance at what it does it might well work.
