The Popups is working fine for all browsers. But in IE7 & IE8 after closing the popup window it remains the popup overlay. Browser should be refreshed to remove that overlay.
I think I followed the instructions given in the README.txt.

Can someone give some ideas to configure this correctly?

I could found a solution. Upgrade to popups 6.x-2.x-dev version. I used an old version. now its working fine.
