Issue Summary
I was looking at the statistics for Node Checkout actions (http://drupal.org/project/usage/uc_node_published), and I noticed that the sites using the version for Drupal 6 of the module are reported to be 53, while there are only 41 sites using branch 6.x-1, and no one using branch 6.x-2.
As the project is only for Drupal 6, what is the explanation for such difference? Are there 12 sites using the branch MAIN, or is the count wrong?

with reference to the 2.x branch it's not listed on the project page thus likely isn't being found by many.
Could it be that because the project isn't listed on the project page, that it isn't being graphed?

That doesn't explain why the number of sites using the version for Drupal 6 doesn't match the sum of the sites using the Drupal 6 branches.
If the code that shows the usage statistic for the project basing on the Drupal version required is able to count the versions that are not shown in the project page, then also the code that shows the usage statistic for each version released should do the same.
To notice that the page you reach by clicking on the link for version 6.x-2.x-dev present in the usage statistics page shows no site is using version 6.x-2. it seems, therefore, that the problem is with the code that shows the usage statistics below the graph.

See also http://drupal.org/project/usage/nodewords. The usage of some versions has changed from about 2000 web sites to less than 10 sites.
I don't think that usage can be trusted.

Bdragon and I looked into this. The data is being collected. The problem appears to be at the step when the script is trying to push the data from the external database into the live drupal.org database. There are cases where it hits duplicate keys, etc, and the data isn't written. Nothing's being lost, it's just not all being displayed (yet). Bdragon will work on fixing this when he gets the chance.

Thanks for looking into this, dww. I am glad to hear that no data is lost, and that is only a visualization problem.

Since #620350: Usage statistics last reported for week of October 18 was closed, I'm posting here. It looks like usage stats are not shown for November 29th.

That's because I didn't run the batch until late monday. ;)
I am still doing the runs by hand to watch the output for errors, so the "latest" week sometimes takes a bit to show up.

So can anyone tell me if the stats are fixed or not. Only for one of my projects, http://drupal.org/project/Andreas1024px, several weeks are reported as 0.

Argh, I broke mixed-case projects again with the latest code. Thanks for pointing that out. Fixing and rerunning now.

Looks like somewhere around 112 projects were affected. (may be a bit higher, I computed it in my local instance which is a bit out of date)
I'm in the middle of rerunning the december stats that are in the log directory. I'll go dig up the logs needed to patch up the rest of the hole after that runs.

Patched up the end of november as well. Should all be good again.

Hi,
I can confirm the project - http://drupal.org/project/Andreas1024px - now has stats, however I believe there is still an issue. The usage stats show the 1.4 release going back to Nov 22. The 1.4 release was only made on the 19th Dec. Similar issues affect other projects as well, http://drupal.org/project/usage/andreas, for example has 1.3 release stats showing before it was released.
It may be me mis-interpreting the stats, can someone else confirm I am reading them correctly and if this is me being stupid or a bug!
