FCK Editor works fine for me with Firefox and Safari.
With internet Explorer 7 and IE8, however, I get a hand icon (instead of an arrow or veritcal cursor icon) when I mouse over the text entry field. I'm able to type words in, but I can't access any of the FCKEditor buttons (like bold, italics, smileys, left justify etc). Note - the hand icon never puts a pointer finger up inside FCKEditor, which should be its default behavior when pointing to something clickable.

This isn't just on my system.
I went to http://drupal.fckeditor.net where a demo module is available and experienced the same problem.

Can some other folks test this out in Internet Explorer to see if this is a general problem or something peculiar to my system?

Any advice on how to fix this if it is on my system? (I just did a fresh install of IE8, and prior to that I'd cleared my IE7 browser cache)

Thanks for any help.

Still having the same problems, however if I hold my right mouse button down while hovering over one of the editor's functions (like Bold or italics), my cursor temporarily changes to an arrowcan then left click to invoke the editorial change.

Within the text field, I can't select text in the normal manner by left clicking and dragging over an area. I can right click, then hold shift, then right click at another point, and the text in between will be selected.

Is this a known bug?
Is anyone else experiencing this?
Did everyone have a nice Thanksgiving . . .

Thanks to anyone who can shed some light on this.

Hmm . . . still hoping some folks with more Drupal experience can help me out on this; guess Thanksgiving's not the best time to run into a Drupal problem. Anyway, I checked things out in Internet Explorer 8 on Windows XP and didn't have any problems. So now it seems the problem is limited to a Windows Vista 32 bit system running Vista SP2 (or to my particular system perhaps).

Anyone else with a simliar system having problems with FCKEditor?
Any recommendations as to how to fix up my own system? I've tried deleting the browser history, running cron, purging the cache from within my drupal site. Any other steps I should try taking?

Thanks

Try the ckeditor/fckeditor demo pages (i know that's the ckfinder demo page, but it has both ckeditor and fckeditor demos) -- if you still have the problem it has nothing to do with drupal and is an fckeditor problem.

Hey WorldFalz,

I do have the same problem with the demopages from my Vista 32bit computer with IE7 and 8 - no problem from an XP computer, and no probs with other browsers. I'll check out the forums on the CKEditor site and post back here if I learn anything.

Thanks

I'm having the same problem and was wondering if you ever found a resolution.
