This seems like a pretty specific use case so I don't think we're going to spend time coding it (unless skyredwang disagrees :). However, that's not to say other people wouldn't find it useful so if you decide to write the code yourself, be sure to post it here.

For what I can tell you could imitate one of the .inc files in webform's component directory. This would probably be easier to do with the Barcode 2.0-dev branch because the CCK and FAPI parts of the code are split up a bit better.

Drupal 6 is long out of support.

This module is no longer supported. I suggest you try using the Barcodes module instead (https://www.drupal.org/project/barcodes)

Barcodes is very similar to this module, and is supported for Drupal 7, 8, and 9.
