Dear friends,

I put a certain node on the frontpage which appears teasered
and with a "read more" link. But what I want is the full node
on the frontpage without any "read more".

Where can I configure that?

Go to Administer/Site Configuration/Site Information ... scroll to bottom of the form, there's an option to change the front page to any page you like.

If you want to make a "fancy front page" .. I suggest you have a look at the Panels module.
