It appears that once a comment is quoted by another user, the original user that was quoted can no longer edit their comment. I'm not sure if this is intended functionality or a bug. This functionality can be useful in some situations however default behavior should probably be to allow the user to edit their quoted comment since it's expected that users would always be able to edit them. Providing an option for disallowing users to edit their comment once quoted would be convenient.

The quote module does nothing to the original comment. Your problem is elsewhere.

Yes I have same issue, if you simply add new reply user can still edit comment but if the comment is quoted then you can't edit anymore.

I've noticed that quoted comments change 'thread' field in comments table
