I am the admin for a content heavy site and need to be able to make minor edits to published content. At present, I have to save the edited content in an unpublished state and then publish it again. Some of these changes are a letter change or tweak in the date, nothing that required review. Besides, I'm the admin - I have full publishing authority anyway. How can I tweak my settings (I don't know Drupal code) to allow me to leave content in a published state when making minor edits.

Bastlynn commentedIn order to solve this I would need a lot more information about your configurations. You should be able to edit, not change the pub'd state and save and be done with it. That you can't means you have some sort of configuration auto triggering or preventing you from making edits in a published state.
Since this request is over a year old, I'm going to assume a solution was found or you've moved on. If not, please get updated to the latest versions of all modules and make a request for it against Drupal 7 and I'll be glad to take a look at it.
