Great module :) Only I'm having problems, no matter what I do, my thumbnail and video player is always the same size. How do I adjust the size of the thumbnail and the player? I've tried changing the size in the embeded code and still have the same 425x350 video window. Also, the thumbnail that is displayed is always a 200px version that is stretched to fit into the 425x350 size.
Please help.
Thanks!

CinemaSaville commentedGo to http://www.YourSite.com/admin/content/types (With "YourSite" obviously being replaced by your domain name). Then find the Content Type you're using to play your videos in the list. Click on "Manage Fields". Once there you should see another list with all the fields for your content type. Find the embedded video field, and click on "configure". Once you're in that area, scroll down and you'll see the "Video Display" settings, as well as the thumbnail settings area. Just change the dimensions in those boxes to match your desired settings, and Voila! Then rinse and repeat. Enjoy!

jjjames commentedThanks for the prompt response! That's what I call customer service ;) But....I've tried several times changing that setting but it's not doing anything. Do you have any ideas as to why this is happening? If I look at the source the thumbnail is always ending in _200.jpg.
Also, the vimeo video I'm embedding is 720x405 and it's only showing up as as 425x350? Very strange behaviour. Would be great if I could get it to show as it's regular dimensions. If I put the embed code into the body, it shows up correctly as 720x405 but pasting the code in the embedded media field it's always at 425x350.
Any idears?
thanks :)

CinemaSaville commentedWhat are your display settings in the content type? You need to choose from there how it appears in the teaser as well as full node. That may be your issue. Check that, and get back to me. The display settings is found at the tab next to field settings. Go get 'em, and report back.
jjjames commentedI've tried all the settings. The video size never changes and the thumbnail's actual image ends in _200.jpg no matter what. Very strange...perhaps a conflicting module or something, maybe I'll try on a fresh install.
any ideas?

jjjames commentedDuh...I'm a moron, but still not quite ;) I had the settings to 425 in my content type under manage field! i know, stupid. BUT...I can still only pull the 200px thumb from Vimeo. Don't they have several size thumbs? I would like the largest possible which i believe is 460 or something? Do you know how I can make sure I get the largest thumb from vimeo?
Thanks! sorry I overlooked those basic settings...

CinemaSaville commentedI'm using a custom thumb myself, so I really don't know. You can use emthumb to upload your own thumbnail. There's issues with that currently. But if you use it, after you browse, don't hit upload. Just save the node, and you should be good to go.
jjjames commentedStrange, custom thumbs aren't working for me :( Is there anything you did to get it working?
Thanks!
CinemaSaville commentedJust enable the module. Then make sure inside the configuration area for the embedded video field you have the check box for "allow custom thumbnails" checked off. Then when you go to create your node there should be an area for you to upload a custom thumb. Browse to the thumb you want. Then DO NOT hit upload (As of this writing it's not functioning properly. This may have changed by the time someone else may read this.). Just save your node. You should be seeing the custom thumb at that point. Good luck.

jjjames commentedthanks, but no matter what I can't get it to work :( hmmm. so about getting a 460px thumbnail from Vimeo, do you have any ideas how to use that rather than the 200px one that it always defaults to?
thanks so much for your help!
ps: what does the API and Secret fields do for Vimeo? is there any benefit?
thx
Comment #10
CinemaSaville commentedCan you be more specific about your settings? Maybe attach a few screen shots to make sure you've got everything set right.
No benefit to the other fields for Vimeo just yet. They may add some stuff later.

jjjames commentedThanks for your help, I'm attaching some screenshots..
Embedded Media Vimeo Settings:

This shows you that the thumbnail pulled from Vimeo is only 200px wide, not the 460px as set in the above screenshot.

I want to pull the larger thumbnail but no matter what it doesn't work. I found a trick i can do in firebug where i change the last numbers in the image from 200.jpg to 460.jpg and it does show the 460px version, but this should be done with the module, not firebug.
Also, no matter what, I can't create custom thumbnails.
Thanks for your help :)

CinemaSaville commentedI need to see a screenshot from your content type field settings area where you configure the embedded video field. Can you send that? It'll give me the information I need.

CinemaSaville commentedSo everything there looks good. Now the issue is when you create your node, and do the custom thumb are you simply browsing to your file, then saving? There's a patch that has been created that will fix this. (Should be committed any second now.) So other than that you should be good to go. And you are using "Full Video" in your display settings for the full node now, right? So you're getting the dimensions you need, right?
jjjames commentedThanks for lookin. Please let me know when that patch is committed so I can re-install :) Yes, I'm simply browsing for my file and saving. I also noticed that I can't delete the thumb that is pulled from Vimeo. Do you have any ideas on how to pull a 460px wide thumb from vimeo rather than the 200px one that is always being used? The html stretches the 200px thumb, but it looks bad. You can see in my screenshot, the tiny thumb in firebug says the source image is 200px...even though I have my settings to 460 in the module.
Thanks so much for your help!
Oh yeah, the video size is all squared away, i simply missed the setting in the content type.
CinemaSaville commentedI think the fixed emthumb is gonna be your ticket. I'll keep you updated, but just look to see when the next .dev release is updated. You can check on the project page.
My pleasure. This module forms the heart of my site, and it's been great, I wanted to implement a shadowbox display for the videos, but the load time was taking over 30 seconds, so I had to go back to a basic embed.
You can check it out at http://CinemaSaville.com
Best of luck.

jjjames commentedCool... the dev version is working :) Still though, if I want to use Vimeo's thumbs, it's always the 200px version, but it will do for now.
Cool site and some funny videos ;) I like how you have the thumbnail carousel. Appreciate your help!
