I like the ability to add more items once "unlimited" is set in Global Settings...but why are there 2 fields displayed on the creation page instead of just one? It really makes the content creation page a lot longer. Since there is an "add item" button, anyway, I'm not sure why this is the default behavior. Is there any way to change it?

I am wondering about the same thing. Filefield only adds a single item initially along with the Add Another Item button, which is what I would prefer emfield to do when number of values is set to unlimited.
