I am successfully using this module with my courses booking website, with one small problem! The input box to enter the purchase order number does not display properly in any version of Internet Explorer. The box seems to be only a single character in length, although you can type in more characters and these chars are accepted and stored.

Is this a styling issue or something else?

Unfortunately most of the customers to my site will be using IE.

It's probably helpful to specify the theme you're using, or the URL where this issue can be viewed.

Does the problem go away if you switch to a Drupal core theme, like Garland?

There are many versions of IE. Which specific versions have you observed this issue with?
