It would be very handy to be able to add in new vocabularies in bulk... As with 'category' entry in MT, multiple fields are offered. You enter in just the titles initially, then edit details afterwards... Here's a process-outline...
(To Add Vocabulary)
- Click on 'Taxonomy'
- Five empty text fields appear for 'Vocabularies'. You type in names. You can fill in up to five. Whenever you add a new taxonomy, five more empty fields will appear.
- - Fill in Vocabulary Names
- - Click 'Save Settings'
(To Edit Vocabulary - Add terms)
- After adding new Vocabulary: Taxonomy Page reloads; new Vocabulary Titles appear on page. Options next to each: | Add Terms | Edit Vocabulary Details |
- - Click Add Terms
- - - Similiar five empty text fields appear; Enter and save term titles- choose to 'Save & go back to Taxonomy page' or 'Save & go to Add Terms Page'
- - On Taxonomy Page, click 'Edit Vocabulary Details
- - - Add description, related terms, and placement of Vocabulary (blog, forum, etc)
- - On Add Terms Page = the next terms have reloaded with - Edit this term -options next to them.

this is a fine improvement. please submit a patch, if someone decides to code it.
Bump
Feature request... would be very useful. I'm not looking forward to adding dozens of manual entries.
I *think* there is a module
I *think* there is a module to do this now. But I can't remember its name. I'll keep on looking.
re: bulk vocabulary entering
Yes, there is such a module.
Use taxonomy_xml, which allows you to copy whole vocabularies
from one site to the other by exporting them
to XML and importing them back.
Enjoy,
