how do i check out the 5x dev branch when i am wanting to make a fix to the 5x branch

this is probably a dumb question, i usually download the head version of my module via eclipse and make my changes to dev branch and tag a release when it's ready to go but i don't know how to checkout the head of the 5x branch.
