Hey Raj,

Sometimes us lazy leechers forget (or just don't know) how much time and hard work / vision etc needs to go into developing a module, and it's also easy to forget it's a community where we all should be contributing!

I'm a lazy leecher at the moment, but I have 3 modules I need to start developing in the next 8 weeks (I hope), which I hope to contribute (and might be useful) to the community (About time too!)

The hard work of others, just like you, is a major motivation.

The IM module: why do I need it?

One thing I do is develop websites for primary schools, and one part of that is to develop, such that young (and very young) children can experience many of the features of social networking sites, like instant messaging, in a SAFE environment (and one that complies with our child protection guidelines). Your module, as well as some others, are really important in delivering this sort of experience. Very valuable work, you're doing.

Jon thanks so much for your support - it really does help motivate me to hear my work being appreciated and valued, and I like that you are building stuff for kids - especially in the educational arena.

My dream is to be able to develop software for kids, and although I'm currently working on a commercial social networking site for kids (not public yet, but almost!), we'll be done soon and I'll once again find myself back in the wide-world, fishing for an interesting project. I want to enable knowledge and understanding across cultures and continents - and I think kids already get it, but just need the conduit to express it and enrich it.

Best of luck in you endeavors and I hope you get to see some of the kids grooving on your creations !
