I update this module to Drupal 6 and added function to highlight with JS instead server side filter for scalability.
There is not case sensitive bug for JS highlight.
The external highlight is not support yet.
If this module is dead, I 'd like to the new maintainer.

Does this work in views? i tried it in drupal 6 and nothing is highlited, i included it in input formats.

It doesn't work for views. It only work for search results.
