user registration with passwords AND user activation per e-mail

Hallo,

Does anyone know how to configure durpal 6 to let choose the password on first registration (profile) AND also get an "e-mail verification when a visitor creates an account"?

I want to set up drupal that way, that when user registes the registration form (profile) displays the username, e-mail and password fields. That's what drupal 6 is doing when set to "Visitors can create accounts and no administrator approval is required.". Up to that point everything is fine.

But before the account can be used, a user activation per e-mail is necessary.
If I choose "Require e-mail verification when a visitor creates an account" the password fields are not displayed.

I've searched for some hints or modules but couldn't find something.
