Description
When editing a poll page or a page generated using a custom content type, you have the Excerpt field but the info you enter there is not saved after clicking the Submit button.

Just the same issue!
I use flexinode and all custom content types not work at all with excerpt.
Is this a well known bug?

Has anyone managed to successfully use Excerpt with custom content?

Same problem. I also tried "note teaser" module and still doesn't work.

Is this a problem with CCK as well or just Flexinode?

I believe this functionality is there now. If not please submit a new issue.
