I wonder if it's possible to change the displayed quote on a daily basis. Right now the quote changes every single call. It would be nice to have a "Quote of the day". Is this possible?

I like this idea. I can see adding a setting to each block to change its quote every X minutes/hours/days using cron. I will look into this later today or, if I don't get a chance, in the next couple of days.

Any update on this? This would be more useful for me than the Daily module.

I just committed version 5.x-1.0 to CVS. It has an "Update every x minutes/hours/days/weeks" feature. Note that it may take awhile for the download packages to appear on drupal.org.
