User Import can't important node-based location info for content profiles

Might be related to this: #323118: Missing location fields within node profiles during user import

I'm trying to have user_import populate associated content profiles with node-based locative information (not cck), which as far as I can tell, should technically be possible with all concerned modules (node_import can work with content_profile and location, and user_import is said to work with content_profile through node_import).

Of course, I know it's never that simple, but it would seem that the main pieces are in place.

Any thoughts? I've been trying everything!
