We (the Drupal core i18n team) are trying to find a new place for the new entity translation module for Drupal 7, to be considered for core in Drupal 8. The module replaces Drupal core's current Translation module's entirely.

Hence, I thought that it would make most sense to take over the contrib module namespace for it.

It seems that Translation module didn't see any commits for years and also doesn't have any releases.

Would you be ok with me taking over the project? (I can do it, I just need to know)

Moving over to webmasters queue. I've additionally contacted the current owner by mail when I created this issue.

The project (http://drupal.org/project/translation) has never had commits for Drupal 4.7, and 5; plus it has never had a release visible in the project page.
Considering that the last commit has been done 3 years ago, I would consider the project abandoned, and sun can take it over.

If we want to follow the procedure, we should wait 14 days from when the report has been created.

Two weeks are passed, it seems sun can take over the project.

Right. I also didn't receive any reply from the current owner/maintainer.

I'll probably proceed with this tomorrow.

so, hehe... if there are any final considerations or concerns, now would be the best time to speak up! ;)
