Is this possible? Let user set criteria for a node and when a node is created that meets that criteria, the user is notified...

The subject pretty much sums this up but what I am trying to do is:

I want a user to be able to have a "wish list" that they can specify certain criteria. Let's say vacation preferences...
The have a form where they can put in the region they want to visit, a resort name they want to visit, the time frame they want to visit, a state, a city... etc. (or any combination of those).

Then they can save those "preferences" for their dream vacation. Now when a node is created with say a timeshare listing, that meets a user's criteria, that user will be automatically notified and the notification will have a summary of that node as well as a link to view it.

I hope I have explained this well enough. If anyone can offer a recipe for this, I would greatly appreciate it!!!
