I am using Drupal6. I am using Shared hosting and non dedicated IP. That's why I can't use SSL. My question is what other option I can take to prevent my site from hackers. I know that SSL is advanced and it has no competitor , it is the best. But in my case i can't use SSl because of my low budget what is the othe options then?

NB:I also came to know that OpenSSl is also for dedicated IP

If you're referring to financial transactions, there really is no alternative afaik. And anyone who would trust their cc data to a site not secured with ssl is insane.
