I have installed the Simple Access module and am confused about the relationship between its components. It looks like this module will allow me to do what I want, but I'm confused as to how to set it up.
In what order should I set up the following and what is their relationship to each other?
Access Groups
Access Profiles
Access Rules
I've created several roles for my site; I have also created some Access Groups. I have even created a couple of Access Profiles, but I don't know what their significance is or how one relates to the other. For example, when I edit an Access Group, the Roles are displayed with the words 'Roles that can view' - if I check, say Role P, what does this mean that users with Role P can view?
Maybe it will be clearer if I explain that I want to be able to specify a hierarchical set-up like this:
• user Sue and others are assigned to Role S
• user Tom and others are assigned to Role T
• user Violet and others are assigned to Role V
• user Peter and others are assigned to Role P
• user Anne and others are assigned to Role A
All nodes are viewable and (and editable) by Role S
Some nodes are viewable and (and editable) only by Roles S & T
Some nodes are viewable and (and editable) only by Roles S & V
Some nodes are viewable (and editable) by Roles S, T, V & P
Some nodes are also viewable by Role A
How do I use Access Groups, Profiles and Rules with these roles to achieve what I'm trying to do?
