This may just be due to my lack of understanding so apologies if so.

I am using the EMF with the MailChimp plugin and wish to populate the field mapping with tokens from a CCK content type which is associated with a user account. In the help text for the token replacement patterns it only mentions user tokens and global tokens. Can I still use other tokens, and if not is there any way I can expose additional categories of tokens so that they can be used?

Right now, only user and global are supported out of the box. But you can add more by hacking the module. If you provide a patch, open this issue again and I'll consider commiting it.
